Firmware baseline storage

Upload firmware baselines through the SUM web UI. When you upload an SPP ISO file, SUM validates, extracts, processes, and registers the baseline before storing it in the firmware depot.

The default firmware depot locations are:

  • Linux: /var/lib/sum/depot

  • Windows: %PROGRAMDATA%\SUM\depot

NOTE
Do not manually copy SPP files into the firmware depot unless instructed by HPE Support. Always use the SUM web UI to upload firmware baselines.

Disk space planning for SPP uploads

SPP ISO upload and processing operations require additional temporary disk space.

Reserve at least 2.5 times the SPP ISO size plus 2 GB of free space on the depot volume.

For example: For a 5 GB SPP ISO:(5 GB × 2.5) + 2 GB = 14.5 GB

Insufficient free space can cause firmware baseline upload or processing operations to fail.
