Smart Update Manager 20.0.0 (Beta)
Smart Update Manager SUM 20.0.0 (Beta) is an on-premises firmware management solution that orchestrates firmware updates across managed HPE servers. It provides a scalable, automated framework for managing firmware lifecycle operations across multiple servers.
Enhances the firmware update experience by integrating proven capabilities from HPE Compute Ops Management and HPE OneView, creating a consistent and extensible firmware management platform.
Standardize firmware update workflows with a modular architecture that provides a consistent firmware management experience across HPE solutions and simplifies integration and operational management.
Designed to minimize operational risks such as inconsistent firmware deployment, firmware states, and update inconsistencies across different environments.
Employs standardized processes, validation steps, and controlled orchestration to ensure reliable, predictable updates, and enhance operational reliability at scale.
Considerations
The solution uses TCP port 63002. Earlier versions of SUM can also use this port. Because only one application can listen on a port at a time, SUM 20.0.0 (Beta) and earlier SUM versions cannot run simultaneously on the same system.
Before launching SUM 20.0.0 (Beta), stop any earlier SUM instance and verify that TCP port 63002 is available.
