Launching SUM 20.0.0 (Beta) from SPP for Windows

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that you have administrator privileges.
  • Ensure that you have access to the SPP ISO image.
  • Ensure that the SPP ISO image is mounted on the system.

About this task

Follow this procedure to launch the solution from the Service Pack for HPE ProLiant (SPP) ISO image. If the solution is not installed, the installer will run and finish the installation before launching the interface. If it is already installed, the interface will open directly in your default web browser.

Procedure

  1. Mount the SPP ISO image on your system.
  2. Open the mounted drive. For example, D:, E:, or F: depending on your system configuration.
  3. Locate and double-click on the file launch_sum.bat.
  4. In the menu, use Up/Down Arrow keys, or type 2 to select 2) Smart Update Manager 20.0.0 (Beta) - Install/Upgrade.
    NOTE
    The following are the launch option:

    • Press Option 1 to launch the traditional Smart Update Manager.

    • Press Option 2 to launch the Smart Update Manager 20.0.0 (Beta).

  5. Perform one of the following based on the installation status:

    • If SUM 20.0.0 (Beta) is not installed: Wait for the installation to complete. Once finished, the interface automatically opens in your default web browser.

    • If SUM 20.0.0 (Beta) is already installed: The installation step is skipped and the interface opens directly in your default web browser.

Results

The solution launches and the web interface opens in your default browser.
