Switching between SUM and SUM 20.0.0 (Beta)

Prerequisites

  • Ensure you have access to the mounted SPP
  • Ensure you have permission to run scripts on the OS
  • Ensure you have supported Windows or Linux system
  • Ensure you have either SUM or SUM 20.0.0 (Beta) installed and running

About this task

Use this procedure to switch between SUM and SUM 20.0.0 (Beta)from the mounted Service pack for HPE ProLiant (SPP). Use the launch_sum.sh for Linux or launch_sum.bat for Windows script to switch between SUM and SUM 20.0.0 (Beta).
IMPORTANT
SUM and SUM 20.0.0 (Beta) maintain separate application data repositories.
  • Servers added in SUM are not available in SUM 20.0.0 (Beta).
  • SPP baselines created or imported in SUM are not available in SUM 20.0.0 (Beta).
  • Servers added in SUM 20.0.0 (Beta) are not available in SUM.
  • SPP baselines created or imported in SUM 20.0.0 (Beta) are not available in SUM.
Switching between the applications does not migrate or synchronize configuration data.

Procedure

  1. Run either of the following from the mounted SPP:

    • For Linux: launch_sum.sh

    • For Windows: launch_sum.bat

  2. Select one of the following options:

    • Option 1 - SUM to switch to SUM.

    • Option 2 - SUM 20.0.0 (Beta) to switch to SUM 20.0.0 (Beta).

  3. Verify that the currently running application service stops automatically.
    NOTE

    • If SUM 20.0.0 (Beta) is running, the SUM 20.0.0 (Beta) service stops before SUM starts.

    • If SUM is running, the SUM service stops before SUM 20.0.0 (Beta) starts.

  4. If you have selected SUM 20.0.0 (Beta), verify that the application starts.
    IMPORTANT
    If SUM 20.0.0 (Beta) is not installed, it is installed automatically before the service starts.
  5. Verify that the selected application starts successfully.
  6. Verify that the default web browser opens the application user interface at:
    https://localhost:63002

Results

The selected application starts and is accessible from the local browser.
